It is heart-wrenching to hear how their pain has affected them physically, emotionally, as well as their relationship with friends and family.

Many of our patients visited doctor after doctor before they found us. They were disheartened because their doctors either ignored their pain, minimized their pain, or wanted to mask their pain by giving them prescription medications.

They were relieved when they found the Florida Pain Relief Group located in Tampa, Florida. We do not use pharmaceuticals to hide your pain. Instead, our focus is to identify the reasons behind your pain, address these malfunctions, and leave you with long-term pain relief.

We Care About You

Our practice focuses on interventional pain management. Many of our doctors are board-certified in this field of medicine. The focus of interventional pain management is to use minimally invasive treatments to correct the musculoskeletal disorders, the nervous system disorders, or the systemic disorders that are causing your pain.

While we are not opposed to using prescription drugs when necessary, many of our patients have been able to find pain relief from interventional pain management therapy without the use of prescription drugs.

Our Tampa, Florida clinic focuses on treating you as an individual. We don’t look at you as a name on a chart, as in infirmity, or as an injury. We realize that chronic pain affects every aspect of your life, including your mental and emotional well-being. So we address these through the course of your treatment.

After having cancer twice, I have a lot of chronic pain from different treatments. Learning to manage all my pain and all the different options has been super challenging. Even worse, has been finding kind, caring and empathetic doctors, nurses and everyone involved with your medical care. Luckily for me, I found Florida Pain Group. This location is the BEST!!! When you come in, you are greeted, processed easily and off to see the doctor. I will be the first person to admit, sometimes you will have a long wait. Totally WORTH IT. I understand how frustrating it is to sit for an hour waiting for your appointment, they do have really great wifi and I just plan on being there for a couple hours. Sometimes, it's only 20 minutes. The Staff and Dr. Stone care about how you feel and what you need. I have read the other reviews, it's true, they are limited by insurance, state regulations and even you. They manage to handle all those problems with care and tirelessly. If you need pain management, call and make an appointment. Do understand they have to manage your care and that doesn't always mean narcotics.

Sometimes the visits are long but thats because the doctors take their time in patients care. If a patient cant wait then can leave, Drs offices are not a movie theater where you have a start/ end time, they do get emergencies all the time and patients that take longer than others . I think this office is really good!!!

Not even one star. After waiting for two hours, someone approaches me and said, sorry we forgot to submit your authorization so you need to reschedule. I said why are you telling me that now after waiting for two hours? She replied, ”we forgot, do you want to reschedule or not?” The next appointment, I called my self and asked for an email to confirm the appointment and to make sure that the paperwork is good to go. They send me the email confirming the appointment after I went, they said the same thing, the authorization is not approved yet. I called my insurance myself, they confirmed that the authorization has been approved. I can't believe it. Please keep in mind that the staff has asked me before that if I am willing to pay out of pocket???? Still didn't return my calls. I left over 15 voice msgs. Will not even recommend this place to an enemy. Extremely unprofessional

The Dr. was fine and professional. The staff treated me like a skid row junkie from the minute they opened the door an hour after they told me to be there. Never before have I had my veracity doubted and challenged so blatantly. Rude and unacceptable.

I was coming for a spinal cord stimulator upgrade. No one asked me why I was there? Nor did I ask for a thing.
It was ASSUMED I was drug seeking, and was made to feel unwelcome.

Dr Orbegozo is an excellent doctor. His ARNP, Heidi is excellent as well. They are both very attentive. I have seen some reviews where people complain that they can't get pain medication here. That simply isn't true. They absolutely are NOT going to facilitate opiate addiction. If you really need it, you can get it. However, if you refuse all other methods of pain relief such as blocks, trigger point injections, radio frequency ablation etc., you are going to be less likely to get pain medications. The goal of this facility is not just to dull your pain with opiads, but to give you as much relief as possible without them, so that you can lead a more productive life. Having said that, if you still need medication after trying other methods, Dr Orbegozo can and will prescribe a medication for you. In fact, when I first started seeing Dr O, I asked for Nucynta ER, as I had taken it back home in Kentucky and it works best for my spine, RA, and fibromyalgia pain. He had not heard of it, but prescribed it for me. The same thing with the pain cream I get from total Pain Solutions in Georgia. I can't say about the cream, but he now has posters for the Nucynta in his exam rooms. Which tells you that he absolutely does listen to his patients and researches medications in order to prescribe the most beneficial medication. I usually go to the Fletcher location. I have had very few problems here. The staff is almost always very polite and professional. The biggest problem I have had is getting ahold of someone on the phone. Living an hour away, I can't just run over to the office when this happens. But to be fair, they are doing all of their normal duties while also trying to answer the phones. So please be patient. They will get back to you. I have lived with chronic pain for over 20 years. I have seen numerous pain management doctors, I can honestly tell you that Dr Orbegozo is one of the best, second only to Dr. Shah back home in Kentucky. And his office is the best. Pain management doctor offices deal with a LOT. They have insurance to deal with, referrals to other specialists, tests to arrange, patients to register, etc., and patients who are in pain, and cranky. The staff is doing their best to help you. So again, please be patient. You won't find better care in Florida than you will get with Dr. Orbegozo and his ARNP, Heidi.

If you have chronic pain and need pain "management"...don't bother to go here. They only do pain "intervention"; i.e. if you want a spinal block or other type of physical intervention...fine....if you need ongoing pain management via medication -- save yourself a trip. We called for a consultation for pain management (not intervention) was told no problem...drove 2 hours only to be told upon arrival that the doctor would NOT see us since he does not provide ongoing pain management via medication. What a complete waste of time. Guess shot does not fix everything. Apparently, most of these "so called" pain management doctors are only there to line their pockets with $ from your insurance as they perform some time of intervention and send you on your way....hoping to never see you again -- unless, of course, you want another shot....because the last one didn't last 🙁

Office staff openly curse in front of anyone sitting in lobby. Was told to be there 45 min before appt. Was not seen after an hour and 40 minutes from appt time. Was skipped after I was told I would be next. Left without being seen with no apology for wasting hours of my time. The issue was not swiftly corrected. I complained to the medical director and called corporate office, but no correction was made. I have since received a bill from you for $50. Please explain why I received a bill when no services were provided, wait time was excessive, and I was subjected to hearing staff talk about other patients. I called the number for the bill and no one answered, then I was hung up on when asked what the bill was for. There has been no resolution or follow up.

This office does not value people’s time. Started seeing doctor for months and after I have been using same insurance they tell me there not in network. Yet they took my copay every time. Then they tell me the DR. I was seeing is not in the network but his partner is . So I go to the one on habana where his partner is and they tell me after I’m waiting in the office 30 minutes that starting March they no longer take that insurance. If that’s so then why didn’t the staff on fletcher tell me this and not waste my time and money in gas. I would not go here office does not value your time and have no clue why they are doing.

After 11 phone calls I've had it with them. I saw the ARNP last Wednesday, very nice lady nothing bad to say about her. She submitted my medications that she could and said Dr. O would be submitting my other two medications. Went to the pharmacy that afternoon the two medications she submitted were there and his wasn't. I figured I'd give them a day's leeway as I know Dr's are busy but when my meds were still not there on Thursday afternoon I started calling the office to get no return call at all. It was always: we'll send the Dr a message, we'll send the Dr an email, put on hold and no one came back or just pure out got hung up on. This office was made very clear for months now that I am leaving the country and need my medication to take with me. So now I'm not only out of my medication for here at home, I'm out of medication to take abroad. I had quite often wondered why there was hardly anyone in Dr. O's office and now I can surely see why. As a sidenote Michael is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and I would NOT have him working for me and ruining my reputation. This entire office needs an overhaul and to get themselves in order cause they are making fools of themselves. Ooh and threating to banish me from your office. Do you honestly think at this point I'd care? Can't get my medications anyways so why would I need your "services"! To any patients who are thinking of going to this facility, for your best interest stay as far away from it as you can.

I wish I would have read the reviews sooner. While the doctors are in network, every single thing they do is out of network. So disappointed that they don’t share that up front and I get sent bills in excess of 5K. All I want is some relief from the debilitating disease but all I got were high bills and nothing to show for it.

My daughter is a patient of Dr. Mauricio Orbegozo. One week ago today she saw his fabulous ARNP. The ARNP prescribed the pain medications, right away, which she is allowed to. One week later and 11, yes 11 calls, which have received NO response, my daughter still has not been prescribed the additional two medications she needs for severe chronic pain. She suffers from MS, FIBROMYALGIA, RA and Sjogrens. This is the utmost unprofessional behavior I have ever seen from a doctor's office. Today, I called on my daughter's behalf because this situation has her totally stressed out. . I told them upfront that the call was being recorded. Because of this Michael informed me they would not talk to me until I stopped the recording. He was rather belligerent, even after I told him I had stopped the recording He threatened that the clinic could drop my daughter as a patient. The stress this office has caused aggravates each of her conditions. It will be a blessing if they do drop her I would like to recommend that anyone considering becoming a patient of this pain relief group, look elsewhere as quickly as possible. I'm not a nasty person, but I am a mama bear and the fact that she is in her 30s does not change that. My daughter suffering due to the lack of care and concern from someone who has taken an oath to 'DO NO HARM" is unacceptable.
Physician Partners of America replied on Jan 10, 2018:
Within moments of my and my daughter's comments being posted, my daughter received a call from the office manager, Amanda. She apologized for what has taken place over the past several days and made sure the medications were sent to the pharmacy. She said the issues with Michael will be addressed. I certainly hope so. One person has the ability to destroy an entire businesses reputation. In return, I promised to call of the picketing of their offices by myself and several friends tomorrow. With all this said, I would still give careful consideration before choosing them as my care giver. My daughter is giving careful thought about going forward; even though Amanda repeatedly said they do not wish to lose her as they care very much for their patients.

I can't get them to follow up with me. No one called to see how I'm doing after my shoulder surgery, and now when I'm in pain, they are giving me the run around (Michael) instead if acting like they want to help. I don't get it. They need to be more concerned about the patients, like there ads say.
