As Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer, Carl Pate is primarily responsible for overseeing PPOA’s compliance program, ensuring compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. His principle role is to establish standards and implement procedures to ensure PPOA maintains an effective compliance program.
Pate’s goal is to be a guide to PPOA employee’s in a productive and professional way, “I love helping health care professionals learn about compliance and happy to be a part of the PPOA team. My job is to assist when there is new guidance or new services to be offered, as well as answer questions and address issues as they arise. I love to learn and the field of compliance is ever changing. My position allows me to utilize all of my education and experience on a daily basis,” Pate says.
Pate joined PPOA in May 2022. His previous professional experience includes, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at Corewell Health (formerly Beaumont) in Southfield, Michigan and as Assistant General Counsel at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. He holds a BA in Economics from Wayne State University, a MSF in Corporate Finance, with honors, from Walsh College, and a JD from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
