Dr. Wladislaw Fedoriw is a double board-certified interventional pain management specialist with decades of experience helping patients find relief from chronic pain. Born in Albany, New York, and raised in Rochester, New York, Dr. Fedoriw developed an early interest in science that eventually led him to a rewarding career in medicine.

He began his academic journey at Monroe Community College, where he earned an Associate of Science in Engineering. His fascination with microbiology sparked a change in direction, leading him to complete a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Rochester. Dr. Fedoriw went on to earn his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine.

He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital, followed by a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Upstate Medical College. He further specialized by completing a fellowship in Pain Management at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

For over 17 years, Dr. Fedoriw operated his own practice, the Arizona Back Pain Institute, where he was known for implementing innovative, minimally invasive treatments. These include a one-time treatment for chronic back pain that targets a recently discovered spinal nerve; techniques that restore lost vertebral height and relieve nerve compression associated with leg pain; and spinal cord stimulation, a highly effective therapy for conditions like painful diabetic neuropathy.

Dr. Fedoriw’s journey into medicine began with a love of science. While studying engineering, he encountered microbiology and became fascinated by the internal mechanisms of microorganisms. This curiosity led him to biology, and ultimately to a career in medicine, where he found great satisfaction in applying scientific knowledge to improve patients’ lives. He was drawn to the specialty of pain management because it was a relatively new and evolving field that offered opportunities to make meaningful contributions to patient care.

He takes pride in offering personalized, compassionate care and believes that helping patients goes beyond treatment alone. Dr. Fedoriw ensures his patients feel heard, have their questions thoroughly answered, and feel safe and supported throughout their care experience.

Dr. Fedoriw’s family history is a testament to perseverance and strength. His family escaped two concentration camps during World War II, fleeing Eastern Ukraine and

eventually building new lives in New York City through hard work in construction, seamstress trades, and military service in the Marines and Submarine Corps.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Fedoriw leads a highly active and adventurous life. He currently serves as Commodore of the Lake Pleasant Sailing Club and is certified by the American Sailing Association to captain yachts up to 40 feet. He is a tribe leader at the Wasteland Weekend event, where he leads “The Bombers,” and teaches both primitive and urban survival skills. His diverse interests also include desert and off-road recovery guiding, international exploration, fishing, archery, lockpicking, and guiding for the Arizona Mushroom Society.
