He uses a wide range of minimally invasive procedures to treat pain disorders and restore a patient’s function. His special interests include chronic pain, fibromyalgia, sports medicine, arthritic disorders, spasticity, electrodiagnostics and discogenic diagnostic procedures. During residency training, he published several papers on such topics as spinal cord injury recovery, post-stroke functional recovery, and interventional treatments of spasticity.

Dr. Guirguis went on to complete an interventional spine pain medicine fellowship at Florida Spine Institute. While there, he authored the interventional cervical chapter of a pain medicine textbook.

He comes to Physician Partners of America from Tampa Pain Relief Centers, where he was medical director of the Hillsborough County practice, as well as medical advisory chair of Armenia Surgery Center.

He is a member of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Guirguis was recognized as a “Top Pain Management Physician” in the Tampa Bay area by U.S. News & World Report in 2012.
