Lastly, as a leader in the field of neuromodulation, he has skillfully trained other physicians of the efficacy and technical details of such procedures. Dr. Ramos relays his enthusiasm: “As an anesthesiologist I wasn’t able to actually have interactions of a personal nature with my patients. However, specializing in pain management is so fulfilling since I enjoy performing the procedures that can help my patients. Subsequently, the look on my patient’s faces, their sighs of relief, and gratitude as they tell me they’re out of pain, is such an invaluable experience and honor.”
Dr. Ramos has been motivated to pursue an enriched career in medicine due to his interest in providing high quality patient care. Therefore, to optimize best results, he uses a multimodal approach, utilizing cutting edge technology and treatment approaches in pain control for his patients. One treatment approach he uses is neuromodulation, which includes intrathecal pump placement, spinal cord stimulation, and peripheral nerve stimulation. To further expound on his nonsurgical experience, other procedures Dr. Ramos has utilized throughout his career are dorsal root ganglion stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, minimally invasive lumbar decompression, percutaneous disc decompression, epidural steroid injections, diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks, ganglionic and plexus blocks, craniofacial pain blocks, pelvic pain peripheral nerve blocks, spinal blocks, intravertebral radiofrequency ablation, Botox (botulinum neurotoxin) injections, ultrasound guided treatments, and genicular nerve stimulation.
