Biography

Dr. Allan C. Honculada is an interventional pain management physician at our Winter Haven, Florida location. He is certified by the American Academy of Pain Management and specializes in interventional pain management. With over 25 years of experience practicing medicine, he skillfully diagnoses and treats pain by performing minimally invasive interventional procedures.

Although born and raised in Tangub City, Philippines, Dr. Honculada attended The University of Guam in Mangilao, Guam for his undergrad degree. Upon his return to the Philippines, he furthered his education at Cebu Doctors’ College of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines where he received his Doctorate in Medicine. Upon his arrival to the states, he continued his training at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois by completing an internship in the Internal Medicine Department, his residency in the Anesthesia Department, and a fellowship in pain management. Upon completion of his training at Cook County Hospital, he became recipient of the Robert Dripps Memorial Award for the most outstanding graduating resident in anesthesia and Chief Resident Award.

In addition to treating patients, Dr. Honculada has been a part of research teams, has served as chairman in the department of surgery, and has served as a medical executive committee member. He is actively a member of the American Society of Anesthesia, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, American Academy of Pain Management, and Society for Pain Practice Management.

Dr. Honculada’s inspiration for pursuing an enriched career in medicine is credited to his parents who encouraged him to practice medicine. For more than two decades, he has been keenly focused on delivering excellent treatment which is of the upmost importance in order to achieve effective management of these painful conditions. His main objective is to assist each patient with attaining the greatest level of function possible. He relays: “Making a true difference in the lives of my patients by restoring their functional status and improving their quality of life is very fulfilling.”

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Honculada is married with 2 sons and enjoys fishing and golf.
