Biography

Dr. Hammad Malik is a board-certified anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained pain management physician with decades of experience treating complex acute and chronic pain conditions. He specializes in interventional pain management and provides comprehensive, patient-centered care designed to restore function and improve quality of life.

Dr. Malik completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and went on to complete a fellowship in pain management at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain management.

Throughout his career, Dr. Malik has held numerous leadership and academic roles. He previously served as an interventional pain management physician in Atlanta, Georgia, and as Chairman and Medical Director of Anesthesia & Pain Care Services in Richmond, Kentucky. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Malik has contributed to medical education as an adjunct clinical professor and lecturer for medical students and residents, including positions affiliated with the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, the University of Cincinnati, and Emory University.

Dr. Malik has also served as an examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology Oral Board Examination and has been recognized for his dedication to teaching, earning the Best Clinical Teacher/Anesthesiologist of the Year Award at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

His clinical interests include interventional treatments for spine, nerve, and musculoskeletal pain, using evidence-based techniques and minimally invasive procedures to help patients regain mobility and return to their daily activities.

Dr. Malik is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Malik is a former professional cricket player who competed at national and international levels in Pakistan and captained the cricket club at the University of Kentucky during his residency training.
