L. Ariel Crespo, MD, CAQSM

Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Dr. Crespo earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Loyola University of New Orleans before completing additional studies in Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Florida. He then obtained his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine.

Dr. Crespo went on to complete his Family Medicine Residency at Western Reserve Health Education in Ohio and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center. Before joining Physician Partners of America, he practiced at Crespo Injury Care Center in Tampa, Florida.

He chose a career in healthcare because of his passion for helping people improve their health and overall well-being. Fascinated from a young age by the science of the human body, he was drawn to medicine as a way to combine knowledge, problem-solving, and compassionate care to make a real impact on people’s lives.

Dr. Crespo’s interest in pain management and sports medicine stems from his desire to restore function, relieve pain, and help patients regain mobility and independence. He takes pride in diagnosing complex conditions and developing individualized, non-operative treatment plans designed to help patients get back to living active, fulfilling lives.

What he loves most about caring for patients is witnessing their transformation: from living with pain and limited mobility to regaining confidence, movement, and quality of life. Building trust and long-term relationships with his patients is a core part of his practice philosophy.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Crespo enjoys boating and traveling with his fiancé, Jamie.
