Biography

Dr. Michael Warhurst is an interventional pain management physician at our Jacksonville and Orange Park clinic locations in Florida. He is triple Board Certified in Pain Medicine, Addiction Medicine and Internal Medicine. He comes to us with over five years of experience and is eager to continue offering the best possible patient care.

Dr. Warhurst was born in Charleston, SC and was raised in a military family. Throughout his childhood he lived in many places including Australia, Japan, Italy, South Korea and then eventually ended up in Jacksonville, FL. He obtained his Bachelor of Science with a major in Exercise Science from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. He then attended medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, SC. He completed an internship and then residency both in Internal Medicine at HCA Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL. He then completed his fellowship in Pain Medicine at Larkin Community Hospital in Miami, FL, Pain Medicine.

Dr. Warhurst specializes in many procedures encompassing numerous pain modalities. Including but not limited to Fluoroscopic Guided Interventional Procedures, Selective Nerve Root Blocks, Facet Injections, Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar ESIs, Intralaminar & Transforaminal Injections, Medial Branch Blocks /Radiofrequency Rhizotomy, Intra-articular Injections, Caudal Epidurals, PRP/ Bone Marrow Aspirate Mesenchymal Stem Cell, Trigger Point Injections, and Medication Management.

His strong desire to help people is what drove him to become a pain management physician. He says, “I love how broad the field of pain medicine is, from being able to use cutting edge procedures, to regenerative medicine, to advancements in medical imaging. I became interested in Pain Medicine during my residency when I had exposure to numerous chronic pain patients and opioid addicted people that showed me this special population of patients were in need of help. I felt like I could serve society best by helping with the opioid crisis and giving people quality of life back with various pain modalities.” Dr. Warhurst loves seeing the satisfaction and the life-changing relief his patients receive from his effective treatments.

Outside of work Dr. Warhurst enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children. He is an adventurous outdoorsman with a passion to travel the world. He also has a personal interest in art, space exploration and astronomy.
