Dr. Leal is an amazing and very respectful doctor. He takes his time with his patients and give them his undivided attention. I have been with Dr. Leal since 2007 and he has always done everything in his power to help control my pains due to multiple injuries that I have all over my body. Yes, you are there waiting for awhile but it's because he is very busy giving each of his patients their time and listening to them to better assist them with their medical needs. I am grateful to him and his entire staff for all they do to help me. I don't ever mind waiting to see him because the end results are so worth my time. I truly feel bad for his staff because some patients are very anxious and tend to be verbally abusive to the staff at time. They don't think for a second that all that his staff is doing is following procedure and compliance. This is a very professional doctor's office and I truly appreciate them for helping me through all my difficult and painful times. Thank you Dr. Leal for being such a great Doctor and caring so much about your patients! You will always be my Doctor!!!

People in that office work very hard. Doctor excellent takes his time and has helped me with my condition when nobody gave me hope. Now I work part time, dr help me no just with my pain but how to improve myself. He listens and best knowledge in his field.

I have to say since Jasmine has left..the office is somewhat better. the new girls seem to be more helpful and understanding. As for the wait..well on good days it isn't bad...on bad days...it is AWFUL....Now as far is Maria....I have a problem with her....But I have always been a "QUIET" patient...Dr.Leal...has never over prescribed for me...I am also not a drug seeker....

I just wanted to highly recommend Dr. Leal because he has done wonders on me, just when I thought my life was over he gave me hope and has been there for me unconditionally. He has not only helped with my pains but he has also been my counselor and the shoulder to cry on when I've been really down with my pains and depression. Thanks to Dr. Leal I am feeling so much better and also a special thanks to his wife Maria for putting up with so much, I don't know how she does it. Sometimes people take for granted what they have but I promise that I will never be one of those people. I value Dr. Leal, his wife Maria and his entire staff and want to thank them once again for their dedication and loyalty to their patients!

I am very thankful to Dr. Leal because he has always gone above and beyond to help me manage my pain. I agree he is very busy but that is due to the fact that everyone wants to see him because he is such a great doctor. Everyone bad mouths his staff but they are not in their shoes to know what they are going through to put up with all the patients that go in there desperate in pain. I have been a patient of Dr. Leal since 2007 and I have seen how people can be so nasty and rude while they are waiting there but they don't recognize that he is giving each and every one of his patience his undivided attention. We all need to be a little more considerate and understating of others. We are all humans, we all have our moments. Please people think about what you say before harmful words come out of your mouth. Dr. Leal is a good, respectful, considerate and companionate doctor so lets take care of him and his reputation!!! Thank you!

I have visited a few pain doctors in Tampa and usually they only care about getting my money for each visit. I was on a lot of medication for pain and Dr. Leal actually helped me ween off of the high doses I was taking. Thank you Dr. Leal for helping me!

Dr. Leal made sure that I had the right amount of pain medication and he even helped me to reduce the amount of pills that I had to take every day. The other pain doctors I have been to have wanted to increase my medication, but not Dr. Leal. His staff was very friendly and I would recommend anyone who has chronic pain to him. He really cares about his patients.

Leal is a great doctor other staff is great. his wife thinks she is above the patients and that she can do whatever she wants I have been a patient of his for over 2 years with never one problem until his wife got involved. they dropped my insurance she changes appointments from 3 to 2 months changes charges then when you question anything she will instantly threaten you with refunding your money and kicking you out of the office without letting you talk to the doctor I have never done anything wrong ever!!!!! I have dealt with everyone in that office they have all treated me with respect and was very happy with all of the staff. AFTER WATCHING HIS WIFE TREAT OTHER PATIENTS AND ME THE WAY SHE HAS I can understand why leal's practice is having so much trouble ( I MYSELF WANT TO GO TO THE BOARD OF MEDICINE OVER HER )

They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information. Their staff was not that friendly, and didn't go out of their way to make me feel welcome. They didn't help me as much as I was hoping and didn't answer all my questions. The office was easy enough to find. I was treated like a drug addict and/or criminal for the entire time I was seen there. During that time I had THREE occaisions where I had to stay UNTIL 8 or 9 PM to be seen.I HAD TWO INSTANCES WHERE THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED WHEN I SHOWED-UP FOR MY APPT. I also WITNESSED Dr. Leal SCREAMING AT, AND BERATING PATIENTS-IN A FULL OFFICE!~ He may be credentialled, but he is a PUTZ!~

Just had an appt. today, waited seven long hours to see the doc as somebody overbooked every appt. x 4. I have been seeing Leal for six yrs. now and remember when things where better at his office. Today was the last straw for me. I get charged maximum price to seem him but get no respect as to the fact that I do NOT have all day to sit in pain in an office where the staff is rude to the patients and I do mean rude. There need to be some immediate changes in staff and attitudes of the staff...whatever happened to compassion and caring? We are treated like we have nothing better to do that day then to sit and go without lunch and dinner while waiting to see Dr. Leal. As for Dr. Leal, I think the world of him, he knows his stuff, but I am just too much in pain and too darn old to sit all day to be treated like crap by staff. Another thing, you are NOT notified ahead of time of any new office rules and believe me, they have alot, so sometimes when you have an appt. you don't because you don't comply with the new rules they have in place, remember you only see the doctor once every 3 months, so when you come in again, they have changed the rules, they play hardball alot. The Tampa office and the springhill office will NOT return phone calls nor are they willing to help you if you run into a problem, i.e., missing an appt. if you have a personal emergency, good luck getting your monthly scripts, you are told to go to the e.r. and you know what they will call you if you do go there, a drug addict when that is not true. So, I hope every new person thinking of going to Leal has no home life to attend to, then you it will be okay to go and sit for hours in his hostile waiting rooms, yes, multiple waiting rooms, you get shuffled from the front office when it fills up to the back waiting room, again, no joke. One final thing before I sign off, sometimes Dr. Leal gets angry and yells at a patient in front of everyone, very embarassing.

I go to the Spring Hill office and i think dr leal is a very caring and takes time to listen and he is very informative. Although he may yell and come across a little scary at times i cant blame it when he deals with over a hundered hurt,complaining, and sometimes even druggies. Hes a great person!

They were very polite and helpful and made sure that I had everything I needed. Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. Their office was well organized and clean. I could tell they took a lot of time making sure it was presentable.

You might have to deal with a bit of a wait and a little difficulty with the staff, but overall i'm so grateful I became a patient of Dr.Leal. I have seen over 10 doctors in the past two years to try and figure out what is wrong with my back and am sincere in saying he is the best doctor i've seen.

It was nice to see them treat their staff with so much respect. It was obvious that they had a good relationship with all of their staff members. I was so impressed with the progress I was able to ma ke after visiting them. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future. I always have the best experience every time I have an appointment here. Although I have not had much to complain about, I have noticed that they strongly adhere to the customer is always right policy and if anything goes wrong make every effort to correct the situation.

I am a car accident survivor and pain meds will be a part of my life forever. That being said.Bottom Line: Great doctor, for serious results Dr. Leal is the real deal hands down. He gave me high tech options to drugs I didn't even know existed & neither did my previous doctor apparently...Pros: Having tried several - Dr. Leal has given me the best results AND helped me save money. He cut back how many medications I was taking from 5 to 3, I now have LESS side effects and a better handle on my pain. If you are dying for RESULTS like I was, Dr. Leal is your doctor. I will say, if you can't be a responsible adult and get your paperwork in order then your wait will be longer (Obviously) TIP: Do not go there and try to bully the staff. The office manager does not joke around...at all. Cons: He is the most hardworking person I know. Sometimes you will have to wait, but what doctor's office doesn't make you wait? I can tell you he sees some of the most injured people still living and sometimes everyone can be on edge. This isn't a relaxation spa, people are here because they HURT.

I've been seeing Dr.Leal for over a year now. At first, I was annoyed with the wait time and the rudeness of two staff members. And, Dr.Leal is very blunt. He told me that if I lost weight, it might help my pain. I was 100 pounds over weight and lost 70. At first, it hurt my feelings. But, everytime I come in now, he cheers me on and makes me feel great. That's what a good doctor should do!

I have been a patient of Dr Leal's for 6 years. Dr Leal is a very good doctor. However his office staff ruins his practice. Maria is one of the rudest individual's I have ever encountered. You should be able to count on your Dr and their staff. I am out of the state. My husband is terminal. He has been put in the hospital. Dr leal is very aware of my situation. This has delayed us getting home. I was told 4 days ago my prescription would be filled and today was told it would not be. I also was not permitted to leave a message for the DR to call me . After 6 years of being a patient I am in shock...I will be changing Doctor's..

I have been a patient of Dr. Leal since July of 2008. Maria no longer works there, nor does His Son. Jasmine is the Office Manager and She is a Professional. Dr. Leal has effectively treated my Pain Management issues for 2 years now and has kept Me almost pain free. There are NO Junkies or Street People in the Waiting Room as mentioned by Others. I highly recommend Dr. Leal's Services based on the Services I have received.

I have been a patient of Dr Leal's for 2 years now. He is the best doctor I have ever seen. He is thoughtful, courteous, knowledgeable, and spends as much time as you need him to. That is why sometimes the wait is long. His staff is ridiculous and rude. But he is worth the wait. His staff thinks they can get away with talking about his patients in Spanish, but there is always someone in the waiting room who speaks Spanish, and tells you what they said about you. These people all need to be fired, but believe me, he is worth all of that. He tries so hard to help anyone who can tolerate the ignorant office staff he has. Part of the problem is that enough people do not confront him about the rudeness of his staff. He cares, he should be told. But this can lead to embarrassment, because he will address it right there. So be ready. He is great, his staff sucks and they are ignorant, but I love him and will come to him as long as I can tolerate the rest.

As I was waitting to be seen by Doctor Leal, thier was a young lady tring to talk to a member of his staff about being seen by the doctor. This young lady was litteraly being screamed at by a member of his staff in front of all of the patients, it was totaly uncalled for! I was shocked, I have never seen such unprofessionalism in a doctor's office. It made me want to look for a new doctor; however, when I finally saw the doctor he was great, so I think I will give it one more chance. After the scene I spoke with some of the other patients and they all said the same thing. That he is a great doctor but his staff is always like that, and he needs to fire them and get new people working there.

I have to comment on the postings here, I also am a patient of Dr. Leal and I actually feel bad for him and his staff, Half of the people that come into a pain management office are looking for on thing. DRUGS. I have sat in that waiting room with some of the smelliest people on the face of this earth and that is not good. A pain management DR deals with a different breed of people. Yes the wait times are bad, Yes Maria takes a little getting used to but overall Dr. Leal gets paid very little from insurance companies and his office has to put up with the likes of junkies who are probably making up an illness to get drugs.So next time you choose to bash a doctor and his staff (and Wife) think of what I have said here. Yes you are intitled to your option but don't be so mean. They are only human.

He has been a really good Dr. for me. I have been seeing him for about a year now. He has spent time with me on my problem and really discussed what is going on, which I have had issues with other Drs on this. Though his staff is AWFUL. On my first visit I got scremed at by Maria, because I didnt show up with everything I needed. But they didnt tell me everything I needed. But it was my fault, she couldnt have done that. Customer service 101, the customer is always right. Then managed to tell me my blood pressure was too high (maybe because I was steaming angry). My last visit I had a new lady who managed to keep giving me attuitude because I didnt know what the exact name of the pain medicine he gave me was (I proceeded to tell just check my file its the last one he gave me). This attitude went on with me for about 10 mins, she asked me about 10 to 15 times, look lady I dont know check my file. He really needs to do something about his staff, because they are who you see first and it makes him look bad. And he is a very good, smart doctor.

Receptionist named Maria is too abrupt with patients in the office and on the phone. She tends to "rush" the conversation without you getting to say everything you need to say. Does not speak english very well and seems to get frustrated when patients do not understand her. I have heard some patients in the waiting room state that they were not returning because of her harsh nature. This person does not belong up front, maybe put her in the back office and put someone friendlier up front.
